WHY MAKE?: FOR ME BY DEE
Hello there readers! Our biggest market of the year is coming up (Nov 19th!) and we can't wait!
This week, we are so excited to be featuring one of our long time stall holders - the super talented Danielle Leo behind For Me By Dee!
Dee meticulously hand paints unique animal themed greeting cards, prints, pillowcases, tea towels and even does custom pet portraits.
Why Make?
Because I love it! I have always been creative with a passion for drawing. I remember from a young age, whenever I visited family and friends, I would be asking for a pencil and paper! That alone kept me occupied for hours.
My background is in Graphic Design but I never got used to the idea of being on a computer 24/7. After seeing a business/life coach for 6 months, I decided that I had to follow my passion and started painting!
Why Paint?
The first thing I painted was a giraffe and when he was met with such a warm and positive response I decided to continue on the animal journey! There are now 32 animals in the For Me By Dee range and it is ever growing. It is like one big family! I try and capture a unique character with each of the animals and name them accordingly. I often receive requests at markets for new additions and introduce new animals from there!
Most of my products have been introduced after receiving requests from my lovely and loyal customers. Initially, I started out with a gift cards range, this developed into prints, and has now ventured into textiles including tea towels, pillowcases and cushions!
Who knows what the next thing could be?
Why MMM?
I first visited the MMM years before I started on my creative journey. Having grown up in the Northern suburbs, my initial thought was ‘Where is Seddon?’.
I remember walking through the market and taking in all its crafty goodness, the wonderful smells of hand made soap and sweet treats! I left feeling so inspired and distinctly remember saying to myself ‘I am going to have a stall at this market one day’! 5 years later I am a living in Yarraville and MMM is my regular local market!
MMM is a market I really look forward to being a part of, not only for the amazing products on offer but the genuine, friendly people who attend as both stall holders and visitors. It has a wonderful community feel and the volunteer committee are all gems! I have made some wonderful friends as a result of this market and I am super grateful I have been welcomed with such open arms!

To add to the festivities, there will be local musicians entertaining us as well as an animal petting zoo and face painting for the kids!
